Sportworks Field Design was hired as part of the criteria architect team on the conversion of Miami’s baseball field from natural grass to synthetic turf. Sportworks worked closely with Miami, setting the parameters for turf specifications, grading and drainage for the University to hire design-build teams. Sportworks conducted extensive due diligence on the existing drainage system to evaluate if it could be reused for the new synthetic turf field and if so, what modifications were needed. Because they system could be modified, Miami University saved money by not having to replace it.
